KUALA LUMPUR (Dow Jones)--Malaysia's palm oil exports in the Aug. 1-10 period rose 48% from a month ago to 592,538 metric tons, cargo surveyor Intertek Agri Services said Wednesday.

Intertek earlier estimated July 1-10 exports at 400,316 tons.

The Indian subcontinent was the biggest buyer, followed by China and the European Union. They bought 183,940 tons, 142,650 tons and 85,775 tons, respectively.

Another surveyor, SGS (Malaysia) Bhd., is expected to issue its estimate later in the day
